Fair Trade Investing

As Arable Land Shrinks, Global Need Grows

Fair Trade Lemons
From South Africa

These lemons are produced by Fairtrade growers. Money received by these growers helps make a difference in their communities. For example the growers from the Citrus Dal area of South Africa are using their Fairtrade Social Premium to pay for their children's education, a nursery and facilities for their seasonal workers.

Fair Trade Cotton
From Barbados
Fairtrade cotton was launched to put the spotlight on these farmers who are often left invisible, neglected and poor at the end of a long and complex cotton supply chain. Through tools like the Fairtrade Minimum Price and an additional Fairtrade Premium and stronger, more democratic organisations, Fairtrade has sought to provide these farmers with an alternative route to trade and higher, more stable incomes.
